A.R.Rahman & Sachin Tendulkar – A comparison
Many people who became die-hard Rahman fans in the 90s were also hardcore Sachin fans (including me!). I think this phenomenon is not without a reason, the reason being similarities between the two. Got this interesting comparison by Maddy, from ForumHub:
They were an instant hit because:
ARR: Blasting music, classical songs at a very young age
SRT: Swashbuckling batting and a great cricketing sense at a very young age
How they stood out from others?
ARR: First to bring digital touch to Indian music and compose fusion that no one else dares to think off.
SRT: First to explore the first 15-over restriction, score centuries at bouncy, tough tracks like Perth.
International attention:
ARR: Admired by Andrew Lloyd Webber , Micheal jackson (who wore a t-shirt having Rahman’s photo on it) and many other international music reviewers who want him to compose for Hollywood films.
SRT: Adored by the man himself the “DON” Bradman and Mike Atherton(who compared Sachin to W.G.Grace) and a never ending list of Australian, English, Kiwi, WestIndian players.

No, how can we compare these two? both are from our INDIA then no need to compare and never…if even u need comparison i definitely vote to SachinRameshTendulkar..because in rural regions so many people don’t know about AR.Rahman but they know from children to old people about Sachin….but it is not good for us to compare these two diamonds because these two are from two different fields..so,we have to be proud about these and still i want encouragement and support to SACHIN(a god to cricket fans..)from u and all…..Thanks to all,,

Both are good in their field. ARR can clinch more awards through slumdog mill…. But if you ask ARR, who is the best music director in India? The answer will be Ilayaraja… Rahman Knows what is the quality of Ilayaraja…
We can Listen ARR music & enjoy.
We can feel and loose ourselves Ilayaraja’s Music. Check out ” HOW TO NAME IT?” & ” NOTHING BUT WIND”.
Even now, IIayaraja too cannot compose again, what he did during his peak period. All are remarkable and unforgotten musics.
