Movie review:

Taare Zameen Par, which has the distinction of being actor Aamir Khan’s debut directorial venture, has made the music launch at a rather silent note. In the film Ishaan Awasthi plays a eight-year-old boy whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate. And Ishaan just cannot seem to get anything right in class.

When is sets himself to far more trouble, his parents sent him to boarding school to ‘be get disciplined’. But the situation goes worser for him as he has to contend with the added separation from his family.

One day a new art teacher comes onto the scene, Ram Shankar Nikumbh. He breaks all the rules and asks his students to think, imagine and dream and ultimately helps Ishaan find himself.

Music review :

Bum Bum Bole :
Sung by actor-director Aamir Khan and Shaan. It is a fun song. The voice of shaan has got a touch naughtiness and the restlessness os a child.

Kholo Kholo :
Sung by Raman Mahadevan. It is a melodious song backed up by guitar. This song is the winner for me from the film and will be pleasing for many.

Jame Raho :
Sung by Vishal Dadlani. It is a situational number which describes differnt kind of children. It might gain success among children but not commercially.

Maa:
Sung by Shankar Mahadevan. The sentimental number is full of melody and rhythm. The relatinship between son and mother is well potrayed in the song.

Bheja Kam:
Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Bugs Bhargava, Shankar Sachdev, Raaj Gopal Iyer, Ravi Khanwilker, Loy Mendonsa, Amole Gupte, Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan and Ram Madhvani. It is less of a song and more of scolding that children get, on getting low marks.

Mera Jahaan:
Sung by Adnan Sami. This song turns out to be a great number. The music for the song has been composed by Shailendra Barve.

Taare Zameen Par :
Sung by Shankar Mahadevan. The title song is the eye cather with minimal music and shankar’s music doing the work.

Ishaan’s theme:
An instrumental piece, the piece seems to trace the emotional graph of a child.

Rating : 8/10
